Old Eldon Jewellers is an award-winning, family-run business in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne.
Since we opened our doors in 1999, we’ve proudly provided soon-to-be fiancés with engagement rings, happy couples with their wedding bands, and thoughtful gift-givers with bespoke jewellery.
Whatever your needs, from design to restoration, our expert team are always on hand to offer guidance, support, and advice.
We specialise in bespoke design and relish the opportunity to bring your big ideas to life – all cast, set, and polished on site. And although we can make anything, we also have a vast range of traditional pieces available to suit every taste.
Our Story
Mark cut his teeth at Northern Goldsmiths on Blackett Street, before marrying Jackie in 1985 and emigrating to Australia. While in Adelaide, Mark put his newly-acquired skills to the test, manufacturing and designing fitted wedding bands and working with Aussie opals.
In 1992, Mark and Jackie returned to Newcastle with a baby Tom, who would shortly be followed by Lucy and Joe. Fast-forward seven years, and Mark’s presented with the opportunity to open his own workshop. And just before the millennium Old Eldon Jewellers began trading from the same Georgian terrace it does today.
Tom officially joined the family business in 2008 and was keen to introduce his dad to modern manufacturing and design technologies, like cad design, house casting, and 3D printing. Joe followed suit in 2018, working in design, public relations, and dealing with our lovely customers.
We feel very fortunate to be surrounded by an amazing team, including Paul and Leigh who’ve been with us since the early days and can’t wait to see what the future holds.
